    Welcome to HAFSO Uganda.

HAFSO uganda is an organization to benefit the communities in Uganda to learn about Obstetric fistula a traumatic condition faced by mothers who are obstructed during child birth. HAFSO identifies the patients from the communities for treatment (repair by surgery), raises awareness on prevention and reintegrates the patients who are repaired back to their homes, communities and some young girls back to school. HAFSO was established as a not-for-profit organization to provide a proactive forum for women with OF to interact, discover the challenges and opportunities surrounding their condition, gain knowledge and understanding of civic responsibilities, acquire the confidence to make responsive and informed decisions as they grow. HAFSO is about connecting women with fistula, spouses, parents and the community at large together through sensitization and raising awareness about OF. The organization deals with the condition using a three-pronged approach: Prevention, identification of patients for Medical care and Counseling (Pre and post operative) and reintegration back to society. Prevention is the key to fighting fistulae; therefore the focus is on education and family planning.
